Riding Lessons & Private Boarder rides

June 6, 2020

This is the most recent update regarding the next expansion our facility access and lesson program while staying in line with COVID protocols and allowances in the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns.

We are SO excited to let you know that beginning June 8, 2020, in accordance with Phase 3 of Re-Open Saskatchewan, we are now able to have more than one person in the barn or arena!

Please review all of the rules & protocols below before coming onsite.  These are all defined for Double T Ranch based on the Government of Saskatchewan defined Guidelines for Equine Activities.

  1. Please do not come to the barn if you have ANY symptoms or ANY potential exposure to COVID

  2. Physical distancing is required at all times, no matter what you are here for

  3. Max occupancy indoors is as following:

    • In the BARN: no more than 6 people, all appropriately distancing

    • In the ARENA: no more than 15 people, all appropriately distancing and this includes parents, etc in the viewing area

  4. Please wash hands & use hand sanitizer upon entering & exiting the barn.

  5. Please be respectful of your time in the barn itself to enable various clients to have access as needed.

  6. Lessons have priority on arena selection and sharing (speak to the coach onsite that day)

    • EXAMPLE: indoor arena can be shared when appropriate but fast riders or high jumpers will not be in the same arena as a beginner rider in lesson

  7. Grooming, tackup & cleaning protocols for each lesson must be followed as below.  Please discuss with your coach before the lesson to decipher which level you are at if you are unsure.

    • Boarders are expected to groom, tack up & clean up their own horse before and after rides & lessons.  Please use only your own tack & equipment and continue all cleaning protocols already in place after your ride (see below).

    • Non-Boarders will have tack up & cleaning protocols completed by the coach to support appropriate distancing and avoid contamination through shared surfaces.

  8. After each lesson (or personal ride), all high-touch surfaces are thoroughly cleaned with appropriate cleanser (ie: door knobs, light switch’s, bathroom surfaces, etc).  Cleaning supplies, paper towels, clothes, etc have been provided. Please ask if you are missing anything.

Lessons have been coordinated to be 1 hour in length with ½ hour “padding” to support the distancing, cleaning protocols, and for coaches to gather school horses & tack up for riders who are not yet at the experience level to complete this task on their own.

**Please note that this is our current operational protocol & is subject to change as required by Saskatchewan Health & Government.  The goal is that we will be opening more opportunities for our customers, but there is always the possibility that the provincial regulations may move in the other direction if more COVID cases begin to appear in the province.
